SUBTITLE INTO THE GENERAL FUND OF THIS STATE.

PART III. LICENSING.

144-13. LICENSE REQUIRED; EXCEPTIONS.

(A)   IN GENERAL.

AN INDIVIDUAL SHALL BE LICENSED BY THE BOARD BEFORE HE
MAY PRACTICE ELECTROLOGY OR TEACH THE CLINICAL PRACTICE OF
ELECTROLOGY IN THIS STATE.

(B)   EXCEPTIONS.

(1)   THIS SECTION DOES NOT APPLY TO A STUDENT
WHILE PRACTICING AS PART OF A CLINICAL EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM
IN ELECTROLOGY TAUGHT AT AN APPROVED INSTITUTION.

(2)   ANY INDIVIDUAL WHO WAS LICENSED BY THE STATE
BOARD OF COSMETOLOGISTS AS AN ELECTROLOGIST OR INSTRUCTOR
ELECTROLOGIST ON JUNE 30, 1978 IS NOT SUBJECT TO THIS
SECTION UNTIL OCTOBER 31, 1979.

144-14. QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANTS.

(A)   IN GENERAL.

TO QUALIFY FOR A LICENSE, AN APPLICANT SHALL BE AN
INDIVIDUAL WHO MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS SECTION AND
THE EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS OF THIS SUBTITLE.

(B)   MORAL CHARACTER.

THE APPLICANT SHALL BE OF GOOD MORAL CHARACTER.

(C)   AGE.

THE APPLICANT SHALL BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OLD.

(D)   EDUCATION.

THE APPLICANT SHALL:

(1)   BE A HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE OR HAVE COMPLETED
EQUIVALENT EDUCATION; AND

(2)   HAVE COMPLETED SATISFACTORILY A PROGRAM IN
ELECTROLOGY CONSISTING OF:

(I) AT LEAST 20 HOURS OF INSTRUCTION IN
THE THEORY OF ELECTROLOGY TAUGHT AT AN APPROVED INSTITUTION
OF HIGHER LEARNING BY A PHYSICIAN; AND
