PART II. STATE BOARD OF ELECTROLOGISTS.

144-5. BOARD ESTABLISHED.

THERE IS A STATE BOARD OF ELECTROLOGISTS IN THE
DEPARTMENT.

144-6. MEMBERSHIP.

(A)   COMPOSITION.

(1)   THE BOARD CONSISTS OF SEVEN MEMBERS
APPOINTED BY THE GOVERNOR WITH THE ADVICE OF THE SECRETARY
AND WITH THE ADVICE AND CONSENT OF THE SENATE.

(2)   OF THE SEVEN BOARD MEMBERS:

(I)   FIVE SHALL BE LICENSED ELECTROLOGISTS
OR LICENSED INSTRUCTOR ELECTROLOGISTS; AND

(II)   TWO SHALL BE PUBLIC MEMBERS WHO ARE
WOT ELECTROLOGISTS.

(B)   QUALIFICATIONS.

(1)   EACH MEMBER OF THE BOARD SHALL:

(I)   BE A CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES; AND

(II)   A RESIDENT OF THIS STATE.

(2)   EACH MEMBER WHO IS AN ELECTROLOGIST SHALL
HAVE PRACTICED ELECTROLOGY ACTIVELY IN THIS STATE FOR AT
LEAST 5 YEARS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING APPOINTMENT OR
REAPPOINTMENT.

(C)   OATH.

BEFORE TAKING OFFICE, EACH APPOINTEE TO THE BOARD SHALL
TAKE THE OATH REQUIRED BY ARTICLE 1, § 9 OF THE STATE
CONSTITUTION.

(D)   TENURE; VACANCIES.

(1)   THE TERM OF A MEMBER IS 3 YEARS.

(2)   THE TERMS OF MEMBERS ARE STAGGERED AS
REQUIRED BY THE TERMS PROVIDED FOR MEMBERS OF THE BOARD ON
JULY 1, 1979.

(3)   AT THE END OF A TERM, A MEMBER CONTINUES TO
SERVE UNTIL A SUCCESSOR IS APPOINTED AND QUALIFIES.
