MAY SELL BEER UNTIL 1 A.M. ON THE FOLLOWING DAY AND ON

SUNDAYS BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 7 P.M. AND 12 MIDNIGHT ON

MONDAY THROUGH SUNDAY. CLASS A BEER LICENSEES MAY SELL BEER
BETWEEN 6 A.M. AND 12 MIDNIGHT. On Monday through Saturday
Class B and D beer licensees may sell beer and Class A and D
beer, wine and liquor licensees may sell beer, wine and
liquor until f1:00 o'clock] 1 a.m. on the following day.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1979.

(Senate Bill 764)

AN ACT concerning

Mental Health — Emergency Admissions

FOR the purpose of changing certain procedures for filing a
petition for emergency admissions to emergency
facilities; providing for procedures for peace officers
accompanying emergency admittees; changing certain
criteria for admission; providing for the costs of
transportation of admittees; and generally revising
procedures and criteria for emergency admissions of
persons suffering from mental disorders.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 59 - Mental Hygiene

Section 12(d) (3) and 22

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1972 Replacement Volume and 1978 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 59 - Mental Hygiene

12.

(d) (3) No certificate shall be executed by any
physician financially interested, by reason of ownership or
salary COMPENSATION, in any (private] PROPRIETARY facility
in which it is proposed to admit the person whose status is
being certified, nor may such physician be related by blood
or marriage to either the prospective patient or the
applicant.
