LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch. 680

[The term] "Master Electrician" as used in this
subtitle, [shall be defined as and including] MEANS any and
all persons, firms and corporations engaged in THE business
of, or holding themselves out to the public as engaged in
the business of installing, erecting or repairing, or
contracting to install, erect or repair electric wires or
conductors, to be used for the transmission of electric
current for electric light, heat, or power purposes, or
mouldings, ducts, raceways or conduits for the reception or
protection of [such] THOSE wires or conductors, or to any
electrical machinery, apparatus, devices or fixtures to be
used for electric light, heat or power purposes. A license
of "Master Electrician," issued [and] in accordance with the
provisions of this subtitle, shall entitle any [such]
person, firm or corporation so licensed to engage in the
business of and to hold himself or itself out to the public
as engaged in the business of installing, erecting and
repairing and of contracting to install, erect and repair
any electric wires or conductors, OR SIMILAR THINGS, [etc.;
provided, however, that] HOWEVER, any electrician properly
licensed under the laws of this State [shall] NEED not [have
to take out such] OBTAIN THIS TYPE OF license to work in
this county.

158.

(a)    Before any person, firm or corporation [shall
hereafter engage] ENGAGES in the business of a master
electrician in Calvert County, as defined in this sub—title,
and before any person, firm, or corporation now engaged in
[said] THE business or any class [thereof] OF THE BUSINESS,
shall continue in [said] THE business of Master Electrician,
[such] THAT person, firm or corporation shall apply to
[said] THE board for a license. [, as herein required,
whereupon the] THE applicant shall present himself before
the [said] board at a time and place fixed by [said] THE
board.

(b)    If the board [shall find] FINDS, upon due
examination, that the applicant presenting himself has a
reasonable knowledge of electricity and the natural laws and
functions of electric wires, appliances and devices for
electric light, heat and power purposes, and is possessed of
skill and of knowledge in all matters appertaining to the
business of A Master Electrician, [as defined in this
subtitle,] then the [said] board, upon payment of the fee
and upon executing the bond [herein] provided for IN THIS
SUBTITLE, shall issue to the [said] person, firm or
corporation a license as Master Electrician to practice
[said] THAT business for a term of one year [;] and shall
register [such] THAT person, firm or corporation as A duly
licensed Master Electrician. [; provided, however] HOWEVER,
[no] A person, firm or corporation who [shall have] HAS been
engaged as a bona fide contractor in the electrical
contracting business in Calvert County for a period of five
[(5)] years prior to June 1, 1967, shall be required to take
