Treasurer [to] SHALL collect all monies which [shall be 3 ARE
due [said] THE county or which by any Public Local or Public
General Law [shall be] ARE due and payable to the County
Commissioners of Calvert County.
(b) The [said] County Treasurer shall place all State
and county taxes and other county monies collected and
received by him under the provisions of the preceding
sub-section[,] in some bank of [said] THE county and shall
disburse [said] THE monies under the provisions of law and
upon the voucher of the County Commissioners, WHICH MOST BE
filed in duplicate with [said] THE County Treasurer.
125.
The [person so appointed, as provided in Section 1 of
Chapter 183 of the Acts of 1890, or who shall be hereafter
elected, as hereinbefore provided] COUNTY TREASURER, before
he enters upon the duties of his [said] office, shall take
an oath before the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Calvert
County, [in form similar to that now taken by the Treasurer
of Calvert County; he] HE shall execute to the State [of
Maryland such] A bond as [is now or may hereafter be]
required by law as the collector of State taxes, which bond
shall be approved and filed in like manner as other bonds of
collectors of State taxes. [; and he] HE shall execute ALSO
to the State [of Maryland] a separate bond in the penal sum
of [twenty—five thousand dollars] $25,000, or in [such]
WHATEVER greater sum [as may be] IS set [from time to time]
by the County Commissioners in consideration of the amounts
of money handled by the Treasurer's office, to be approved
by the County Commissioners of Calvert County. [, with]
THIS BOND SHALL CONTAIN the condition that if the [above
bounden treasurer shall] COUNTY TREASURER well and
faithfully [execute] EXECUTES his office [of Treasurer of
Calvert County,] and [shall account] ACCOUNTS for and [pay]
PAYS to the County Commissioners, [aforesaid, or] to their
order, or as the law may direct, the several sums which he
[shall receive] RECEIVES for [said] OR FOR WHICH HE IS
ANSWERABLE TO THE county, [or be answerable for by law at
such time and in such manner as the law shall direct,] then
the obligation [to] SHALL be void[,]; otherwise, IT IS to
[be and] remain in full force and virtue in law. [; and
said] THIS bond, when approved, shall be recorded in the
office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Calvert County
at the expense of the treasurer. In case of the [default]
INABILITY of the person [so] appointed or elected[,] TO THE
OFFICE OF COUNTY TREASURER to qualify and execute the bonds
required within [thirty] 30 days after the receipt of HIS
commission, or ALTERNATELY in the event of his removal from
office, his death or HIS resignation during his term of
office, the Governor shall [at once] appoint his successor,
who shall qualify and GIVE bond as [aforesaid] MENTIONED
ABOVE, and so continue to appoint until a treasurer
qualifies. [, as herein provided; provided, that such] ANY
new treasurer [so] taking [the place] OFFICE made vacant by
death, resignation or removal[, shall] MAY not collect nor
