1845

118.

The County Commissioners shall [annually] appoint
ANNUALLY as clerk to their board a person of integrity and
judgment[,] who [shall have] HAS been trained in [the matter
of] bookkeeping, [and] who [shall be] IS skillful [with
respect to] IN the keeping of accounts, and who shall hold
his office until his successor is appointed and qualified.
In addition to the duties now imposed upon the [said] clerk
by law he shall [make frequent inspection of] INSPECT
FREQUENTLY the records of the County Treasurer, shall check
all reports submitted by the County Treasurer to the County
Commissioners and shall keep the County Commissioners fully
informed as to the fiscal affairs of the county. He shall
[also] perform ALSO [such] WHATEVER other duties fas] may be
required of him by the County Commissioners. He [shall be
removable] MAY BE REMOVED at the pleasure of the County
Commissioners. He shall [upon application] exhibit UPON
APPLICATION OF ANY PERSON the books, papers, and levies in
his office. SHOULD ANYONE REQUEST [and make] certified
copies or extracts OF THE BOOKS, PAPERS OS LEVIES, HE SHALL
[thereof for any person demanding the same, and] charge for
the SERVICE [same], for the use of the county, [such]
WHATEVER fees [as are chargeable by] the Clerk of the
Circuit Court CHARGES for similar work[, and such], THESE
copies, under the seal of the County Commissioners, shall be
in evidence to the same extent as the originals would be if
produced in proceedings in court or otherwise. [; all] ALL
fees received from this source, however, shall be accounted
for to the County Commissioners by the [said] clerk.

119.

[Said] THE County Commissioners shall [attend] BE
PRESENT at the office of the Board of County Commissioners
of Calvert County [each and] every Tuesday from 10 A.M. to 3
P.M. In addition, they shall conduct a night meeting,
beginning at 8 P.M.[,] AND open to the public, on the second
Tuesday of every month [; if] IF that day is a holiday,
[such] THE meeting shall be held at the nearest convenient
time, [to] WHICH SHALL be determined by the Commissioners.
[Said] THE clerk shall [attend] BE PRESENT at [said] THE
office for the transaction of [the] business [thereof] every
day, except Sundays and legal holidays, from [nine o'clock
in the forenoon] 9 A.M. to [four o'clock in the afternoon] 4
P.M., unless prevented by sickness, accident or necessity.

119A.

   The County Commissioners shall provide the necessary

office space and clerical help in order to establish a

full-time office of the State [Department of] Employment

Securities ADMINISTRATION. This office shall bo located in

Prince Frederick.

(Note: This Section is proposed for repeal and for
