SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:
Article 43 - Health
387C.
(a) As used in this subsection:
1. "County plan" means a comprehensive plan
and all amendments and revisions thereof for the provision
of adequate water supply systems and sewerage and solid
waste disposal systems and solid waste acceptance facilities
throughout the county whether publicly or privately owned to
include all towns, municipal corporations, and sanitary
districts therein.
2. "Community sewerage system" means any
system, whether publicly or privately owned, serving two or
more individual lots for the collection and disposal of
sewerage or industrial wastes of a liquid nature, including
various devices for the treatment of such sewage and
industrial wastes.
3. "Multiuse sewerage system" means a single
system serving a single lot whether owned or operated by an
individual or group of individuals under private or
collective ownership and serving a group of individuals for
the collection and disposal of sewage or industrial wastes
of a liquid nature, including various devices for the
treatment of such sewage and industrial wastes having a
treatment capacity in excess of 5,000 GPD.
4. "Community water supply system" means a
source of water and a distribution system, including
treatment facilities and storage facilities, whether
publicly or privately owned, serving two or more individual
lots.
5. "Multiuse water supply system" means a
single system of piping, pumps, tanks, or other facilities
utilizing a source of ground or surface water to supply a
group of individuals on a single lot and having a capacity
in excess of 1500 HPD.
6. "Department" means the State Department of
Health and Mental Hygiene.
7. "Individual sewerage system" means a single
system of sewers and piping, treatment tanks, or other
facilities serving only a single lot and disposing of sewage
or individual wastes of a liquid nature, in whole or in
part, on or in the soil of the property, into any waters of
this State, or by other methods.
