AN ACT concerning

Somerset County — Education Article

FOR the purpose of transferring the provisions of law
relating to an elected school board for Somerset County
from the annual Session Laws to the Education Article;
specifying the terms of members of the board; and
generally relating to the school board in Somerset
County.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Preamble

WHEREAS, Chapter 823 of the Acts of 1977 provided for
an elected Board of Education for Somerset County, subject
to the approval of the electorate in a referendum which was
to be held on the subject in November, 1978.

When the laws relating to education were revised in the
1978 Session, it was decided to exclude the provisions of
Chapter 823 of 1977 because of the referendum contingency.
