AN ACT concerning

Patuxent Institution — Credits Against Sentence

FOR the purpose of empoworing the Director of Patuxent
Institution to determine credits against sentence for

persons under his immediate control transferring

certain authority exercised by the Commissioner of
Corrections to the Director of Patuxent Institution.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 31B — Patuxent Institution

Section 12

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1976 Replacement Volume and 1978 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 31B — Patuxent Institution

12.

A person transferred to the Institution for evaluation
or treatment shall receive full credit against his sentence
for the time spent at the Institution, including allowances
or disallowances under § 700 of Article 27 of the Code as
determined by the [Commissioner] DIRECTOR.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1979.
