(h) "Docket" means a record maintained by the
Secretary of State in which are registered the name,
residence and occupation of the person employed, together
with the name and business address of the employer, the date
of employment or agreement thereof, the length of time the
employment is to continue and the special subject or
subjects of legislation to which the employment relates,
together with other information hereinafter required.
(i) "General Assembly" includes any member, committee
or subcommittee of the General Assembly or of the
Legislative Policy Committee or any committee or
subcommittee thereof.
(j) "Board" means the Maryland Public Disclosure
Advisory Board established in § 29—7 of Article 33 of the
Code.
(k) "Executive agency" means a commission, board,
agency, or other body in the executive branch of the State
government, and includes any independent body of the State
government that is not a part of the legislative or judicial
branch.
(1) "Gift" means a payment, subscription, advance,
forbearance, rendering of money, services, or anything of
value, unless consideration of equal or greater value is
received. "Gift" does not include a political contribution
otherwise reported as required by law; material such as
books, reports, periodicals or pamphlets which are solely
informational; a commercially reasonable loan made in the
ordinary course of business; or a gift received from a
member of the person's immediate family or from a relative
within the third degree of consanguinity of the person or of
the person's spouse or from the spouse of any such relative;
or reasonable expenses for food, travel, lodging and
scheduled entertainment of the official and spouse for a
meeting which is given in return for participation in a
panel or speaking engagement at the meeting.
(m) "Immediate family" means a spouse residing in the
person's household and dependent children.
(n) "Legislative action" means introduction,
sponsorship, consideration, debate, amendment, passage,
defeat, approval, veto, or any other official action or
nonaction on any bill, resolution, amendment, nomination,
appointment, report, or any other matter pending or proposed
in a committee or subcommittee in either house of the
General Assembly, or any matter which is within the official
jurisdiction of the General Assembly, the Legislative Policy
Committee or any committee or subcommittee thereof, or any
legislative bill pending or presented to the Governor for
signature or veto.
