AN ACT concerning

Dentistry — Fines Penalties in Lieu of Revocation
or Suspension or in Addition to Revocation

FOR the purpose of allowing the Board to impose a certain
fine penalty in lieu of or in addition to suspension or
in addition to revocation or revocation of a license;
and requiring that any fines penalties collected be
paid in to the general fund of the State,

BY adding to

Article 32 — Dentistry

Section 11B

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1976 Replacement Volume and 1978 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 32 — Dentistry

11B.

(A)   IN LIEU OF OR IN ADDITION TO REVOCATION OR

SUSPENSION OF THE LICENSE OF A DENTIST, THE BOARD MAY IMPOSE
A PENALTY OF NOT MORE THAN $5,000 ON ANY DENTIST WHOSE
LICENSE IS SUBJECT TO REVOCATION OR SUSPENSION UNDER SECTION
11 OF THIS SUBTITLE.

(B)   IN ADDITION TO REVOCATION OF THE LICENSE OF A
DENTIST, THE BOARD MAY IMPOSE A PENALTY OF NOT MORE THAN
$5,000.

(B) (C) FINES PENALTIES COLLECTED BY THE BOARD UNDER
THIS SECTION SHALL BE PAID OVER TO THE STATE TREASURER AND
SHALL BECOME A PART OF THE GENERAL FUND OF THE STATE.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1979.
