AN ACT concerning
Correctional Employees — Free Meals
FOR the purpose of requiring the Comptroller to disburse to
providing that the Department of Public Safety and
Correctional Services a certain sum of money, to may
provide gratuitous meals for certain employees of that
Department; and clarifying language.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Preamble
In recognition of the hazardous and unique conditions
of employment, the General Assembly believes it is
appropriate to grant gratuitous meals to all full—time
employees who work within correctional facilities of the
Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:
Article 81 - Revenue and Taxes
The Comptroller shall pay into a special fund in the
treasury all taxes, penalties, and interest—collected and
received by him pursuant to this—subtitle. Such—proceeds
shall be disbursed upon the warrant of the Comptroller for
(a) ---Such amount as may be required to pay the salaries
and expenses of administering this subtitle until—provision
is made therefor in the—budget.
(b) The Comptroller shall set aside in a separate
account such amounts as he deems necessary to provide for
payments of refunds under this subtitle.
