FOR the purpose of requiring the Department of Assessments
and Taxation to give notice of possible property tax
credit eligibility along with the assessment notice;
and requiring the Department to mail the application
forms along with the assessment notices.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 81 - Revenue and Taxes

12F-1.

(1) The Department shall promulgate rules and
regulations to implement this subtitle. The homeowner shall
be given notice of the possible credit under this section at
the time the [tax bill] ASSESSMENT NOTICE is sent to the
taxpayer. COPIES OF THE APPLICATION FORMS SHALL BE MAILED
ALONG WITH THE ASSESSMENT NOTICE.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1979.
