(f) For purposes of this section, the term "police
officer" means any person who, in his official capacity, is
authorized by law to make arrests and who is:

(10)  A regularly employed deputy sheriff of any
county and who is compensated by the county and whose usual
duties include the making of arrests[.]; OR

(11)  A MEMBER OF THE NATURAL RESOURCES POLICE OF
THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1979.

(House Bill 1410)

AN ACT concerning

Maryland Bicentennial Commission - Abolishment

FOR the purpose of abolishing the Maryland Bicentennial
Commission and providing for the transfer of certain
funds.

BY repealing

Chapter 458 of the Laws of Maryland of 1968 (as amended
by Chapter 414 of the Laws of Maryland of 1970
and Chapter 310 of the Laws of Maryland of 1974)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Chapter(s) 458 of the Laws of Maryland of
1968 (as amended by Chapter 414 of the Laws of Maryland of
1970 and Chapter 310 of the Laws of Maryland of 1974) be
repealed.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That any special
fund income of the Maryland Bicentennial Commission is
transferred to the Maryland Historical Trust to be
administered as provided by Chapter of the law of 1979
providing for the appointment of a joint committee by the
Maryland Historical Trust and the Hall of Records
Commission.
