TO THE HOUR OF CLOSING OF THE POLLS FOR TABULATION, THEREBY
FACILITATING THE PROMPT REPORTING OF ELECTION RETURNS AFTER
THE HOUR OF THE CLOSING OF THE POLLS. THE TABULATION,
RELEASE OR ANNOUNCEMENT OF ELECTION RESULTS OR THE
DUPLICATION OF DAMAGED BALLOTS, PRIOR TO THE HOUR OF THE
CLOSING OF THE POLLS IS PROHIBITED.

(E) IN ADDITION TO ANY OTHER PENALTY PROVIDED IN THIS
ARTICLE, ANY PERSON CONVICTED OF A VIOLATION OF THIS SECTION
SHALL BE PUNISHED BY A FINE OF NOT LESS THAN $500 OR MORE
THAN $1,000 IN THE DISCRETION OF THE COURT.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1979.
