[as aforesaid]. ANY STOCK OR SECURITIES CERTIFICATES HELD
BY ANY STATE AGENCY SHALL BE TRANSMITTED TO THE TREASURER
FOR INVENTORY AND SAFEKEEPING.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.

AN ACT concerning
Harpers Ferry National Monument — Authorization Transferred
FOR the purpose of repealing from the Annotated Code the
authorization given the Board of Public Works to
purchase or acquire the land or interests in land for
the Harpers Ferry National Monument; enacting those
same provisions in an uncodified manner; and
prohibiting this transfer of authorizations from
affecting the authorization.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:
Article 78A - Public Works
[31.
The Board of Public Works may purchase or acquire
otherwise, in its discretion, in the name of the State of
Maryland, out of any funds which may be set aside for such
purchases, the land and interests in land which are
necessary to be acquired for establishment of the Harpers
Ferry National Monument, authorized to be established by the
act of Congress approved June 30, 1944, (58 Stat. 645).
Upon acquisition of the said properties, the Board of Public
Works is authorized to convey all right, title, and interest
therein whatsoever held by the State of Maryland to the
United States for purposes of the said Harpers Ferry
