LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch. 22

The provisions in present Art. 77, §36D(f) that
refer to the general election of 1974 and its
results and the county board taking office on
January 2, 1975 are deleted as obsolete.
However, subsection (d) (2) of this section is
added to provide for the staggered terms of
elected members. The terms of the members
serving on July 1, 1978 expire as follows: (1)
Three members - January 1, 1979; and (2) Two
members — January 1, 1981.

The last sentence of present Art. 77, §36D(f),

which makes the provisions of Art. 77 applicable

to the Allegany County Board, is deleted as
unnecessary.

In this section and throughout this title, all
present references to election procedures
including nomination, filing deadlines, filing
fees, and provisions for nonpartisan elections
are transferred to Art. 33, the Election Code.
For a detailed cross—reference table to these
provisions, see the General Revisor's Note to
this title.

The only other changes are in style.
