three nominees the Authority submits. At any tine a new
designee or appointee is to be chosen, pursuant to § 2.02 of
the Potomac River Basin Compact, the Governor shall notify
the Authority of the need for a list of nominees. If the
Authority does not submit a full list of nominees within 45
days of the notification, the Governor may choose a designee
or appointee without reference to the requirements of
section 2.02.

(d) The Authority's funds obtained from assessments
made under §§ 8-508, 8-511, and 8-512 of this subtitle may
not be used to defray expenses of the advisory committee or
any of its members. Each county shall be responsible for
any costs in connection with its representation on the
advisory committee in the manner its law provides.]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.

AN ACT concerning

Public Watershed Associations

FOR the purpose of requiring that the State Soil
Conservation Committee be sent a copy of the watershed
work plan of a public watershed association; and
correcting certain obsolete references.

Section 171 and 186

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1973 Replacement Volume and 1977 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 25 — County Commissioners

171.

The county commissioners shall, at their first meeting
after receiving such petition and report, examine them, and
if they are found not to be in due form and in accordance
with the law they shall be referred back to the petitioners
