AN ACT concerning
Maryland Potomac Water Authority
FOR the purpose of deleting certain provisions relating to
the membership, duties, and expenses of the Maryland
Potomac Water Authority while constituting the advisory
committee to the Maryland member of the Potomac River
Basin Commission.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:
Article — Natural Resources
[8-516.
(a) For the purpose of this section, the Authority
includes, in addition to its regular members, members
representing the counties of Carroll, Charles, and St.
Mary's. The member representing each county is selected in
the same manner provided in § 8—503 of this subtitle. A
member representing Carroll, Charles, or St. Mary's County
may not vote on matters pertaining to the Bloomington
Reservoir project until their respective county is assessed
for payment under the provisions of § 8—508 of this
subtitle.
(b) The members of the Authority are an advisory
committee to the Maryland member of the Potomac River Basin
Commission and his alternate. The Maryland member of the
Potomac River Basin Commission, either in person or by his
alternate, shall confer regularly with the Authority acting
in its capacity as advisory committee. The Authority shall
be kept informed regularly concerning programs, problems,
and activities of the Potomac River Basin Commission. The
Authority has the continuous opportunity to advise the
Maryland member of the Potomac River Basin Commission
concerning effects of Commission activities under the
Potomac River Basin Compact on local governments and
institutions in the Maryland portion of the Potomac River
Basin in order to keep the Maryland member apprised of the
needs of local governments and institutions.
(c) If the Governor selects a "designee or appointee"
pursuant to section 2-02 of the Potomac River Basin Compact,
he shall choose the designee or appointee from a list of
