BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF ELECTIONS SHALL PROVIDE THE WEANS
WHEREBY ALL REGISTERED VOTERS OF CARROLL COUNTY,
IRRESPECTIVE OF PARTY AFFILIATION, MAY VOTE FOR THE
CANDIDATES FOR THE BOARD IN THE GENERAL ELECTION. THE
CANDIDATES. EQUAL TO THE NUMBER OF MEMBERS TO BE ELECTED TO
THE BOARD. WHO RECEIVE THE LARGEST NUMBER OF VOTES AT THE
GENERAL ELECTION SHALL BE DECLARED ELECTED FOR THE
RESPECTIVE BOARD OF EDUCATION OFFICES. ALL VOTING FOR THE
CANDIDATES FOR THE BOARD SHALL BE CONDUCTED ON A NONPARTISAN
BASIS AND ON A GENERAL COUNTYWIDE TICKET; NO DESIGNATION OF
PARTY AFFILIATION SHALL BE PLACED UPON ANY PETITION FOR
NOMINATION, NOR UPON ANY VOTING MACHINE OR PAPER BALLOT USED
AT THE ELECTION.

(C) CAMPAIGN EXPENDITURES.

NOMINEES AND CANDIDATES FOR MEMBERSHIP ON THE BOARD
SHALL LIMIT THEIR CAMPAIGN EXPENDITURES FOR ALL SOURCES TO
NO MORE THAN $500. ALL CANDIDATES AND NOMINEES SHALL FILE
INFORMATION RELATING TO THEIR CAMPAIGN RECEIPTS AND
EXPENDITURES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THIS
ARTICLE.

32-3. CHARLES COUNTY.

(A)    ELECTION OF MEMBERS GENERALLY.

THE MEMBERS OF THE CHARLES COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION
SHALL BE ELECTED ON A NONPARTISAN BASIS, AND NO PARTY LABELS
OR PARTY IDENTIFICATION SHALL BE SHOWN OR DISPLAYED WITH
RESPECT TO CANDIDATES FOR THESE POSITIONS ON THE BALLOTS OR
BALLOT LABELS FOR EITHER THE PRIMARY OR GENERAL ELECTION.

(B)    PETITION FOR NOMINATION: FILING FEE;
QUALIFICATIONS OF NOMINEES; PRIMARY ELECTION.

(1) NOMINATION FOR MEMBERSHIP ON THE CHARLES
COUNT BOARD OF EDUCATION SHALL BE BY PETITION SIGNED BY AT

LEAST 200 VOTERS FROM THE COUNTY.__EACH PETITION SHALL BE

FILED WITH THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF ELECTIONS OF CHARLES
COUNTY NOT LATER THAN 9:00 P.M. ON THE MONDAY WHICH IS TEN
WEEKS OR 70 DAYS BEFORE THE DAY ON WHICH THE PRIMARY
ELECTION FOR THE POLITICAL PARTIES IS HELD, EACH PETITION
SHALL CONFORM GENERALLY TO THE LAWS AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS
ARTICLE. ANY PERSON SO NOMINATED SHALL BE A QUALIFIED VOTER

AND RESIDENT IN THE COUNTY. EACH NOMINEE AT THE TIME OF

FILING HIS PETITION SHALL SUBMIT THEREWITH A FILING FEE IN
THE AMOUNT OF $25.

(2) IF, AFTER THE EXPIRATION OF THE TIME

ALLOWED FOR FILING PETITIONS BY THIS SECTION. THERE ARE NO
MORE THAN TWO NOMINEES FOR THE COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION AT

LARGE FOR EACH MEMBER TO BE ELECTED, THE BOARD OF

SUPERVISORS OF ELECTIONS SHALL CERTIFY THE CANDIDATES AS
DULY NOMINATED CANDIDATES FOR ELECTION FOR THE RESPECTIVE

BOARD OF EDUCATION OFFICES. THESE NAMES AND THE NAME OF THE

POSITION FOR WHICH THEY ARE CANDIDATES SHALL BE OMITTED FROM
THE BALLOT REQUIRED BY (3) OF THIS SUBSECTION.
