(C)   AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIP.

EACH SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED UNDER THIS SECTION ENTITLES
THE RECIPIENT TO ATTEND AN ELIGIBLE INSTITUTION WITHOUT
CHARGE FOR TUITION AND MANDATORY FEES.

(D)   ELIGIBLE INSTITUTIONS.

A SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED UNDER THIS SECTION MAY BE USED
AT:

(1)       THE UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND;

(2)       MORGAN STATE UNIVERSITY;

(3)       ANY INSTITUTION UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF
THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE STATE UNIVERSITIES AND
COLLEGES;

(4)       ST. MARY'S COLLEGE OF MARYLAND; OR

(5)       ANY COMMUNITY COLLEGE IN THIS STATE.

(E)       DURATION OF SCHOLARSHIP.

EACH RECIPIENT OF A SCHOLARSHIP UNDER THIS SECTION MAY
HOLD THE SCHOLARSHIP FOR 4 YEARS OF FULL-TIME UNDERGRADUATE
STUDY OR 8 YEARS OF PART-TIME UNDERGRADUATE STUDY IF HE
CONTINUES TO BE A STUDENT AND TAKES:

(1)    AT LEAST 12 SEMESTER HOURS OF COURSES EACH
SEMESTER LEADING TO A DEGREE IF HE IS A FULL-TIME STUDENT;
OR

(2)    AT LEAST 6 SEMESTER HOURS OF COURSES EACH
SEMESTER LEADING TO A DEGREE IF HE IS A PART-TIME STUDENT.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from Art. 96 1/2, §51.

In subsection (d) of this section, reference to
Morgan State University is added. Morgan State
was a State college in 1975 when this section was
enacted. Also, reference to institutions "under
the jurisdiction of the Board of Trustees of the
State universities and colleges" is substituted
for the present "State college" to include Towson
State University and the University of Baltimore.

18-605. REIMBURSEMENT OF FIREMEN AND RESCUE SQUADMEN FOR
TUITION COSTS OF PROGRAMS OF STUDY.

(A) ESTABLISHED.

THERE IS A PROGRAM OF TUITION ASSISTANCE UNDER THIS
SECTION.

(B) QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANT.
