deleted as unnecessary in light of §18—102 of
this subtitle.

18-302. QUALIFICATIONS OF RECIPIENT.

(A)   HOLDING OTHER SCHOLARSHIP PROHIBITED.

THE RECIPIENT OF A GENERAL STATE SCHOLARSHIP MAY NOT
HOLD ANY OTHER SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED UNDER THIS TITLE.

(B)   EXAMINATION; WAIVER.

(1) EACH APPLICANT FOR A GENERAL STATE
SCHOLARSHIP SHALL:

(I)    TAKE A COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION ADMINISTERED
BY THE STATE SCHOLARSHIP BOARD; AND

(II) BE ACCEPTED FOR ADMISSION IN THE REGULAR
UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM AT AN ELIGIBLE INSTITUTION.

(2)    AN APPLICANT WHO IS ATTENDING AN   ELIGIBLE
INSTITUTION AND WHO HAS COMPLETED AT LEAST 1 YEAR     IN GOOD
ACADEMIC STANDING AT THE THAT INSTITUTION IS EXEMPT   FROM THE
EXAMINATION REQUIREMENT.

(C)   RESIDENCE.

EACH APPLICANT SHALL:

(1)   BE A RESIDENT OF THIS STATE; AND

(2)   AT THE TIME OF HIS INITIAL APPLICATION, BE A
RESIDENT OF THE LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT FROM WHICH HE SEEKS
APPOINTMENT.

(D)   FINANCIAL NEED.

EACH APPLICANT SHALL DEMONSTRATE TO THE STATE
SCHOLARSHIP BOARD A DEFINITE FINANCIAL NEED.

(E)   OTHER CONDITIONS.

EACH APPLICANT SHALL ACCEPT ANY OTHER CONDITIONS
ATTACHED TO THE AWARD.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from Art. 77A, §57(b).

Subsection (a) of this section has been broadened
slightly. Present Art. 77A, §57(b) prohibits a
person who holds a general State scholarship from
holding any other scholarship awarded "under the
provisions of this article" {Art. 77A}. By
