RESOLUTION
OF THE
MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF ROCK HALL
TO AMEND THE TOWN CHARTER

RESOLUTION of the Mayor and Council of The Town of Rock
Hall, adopted pursuant to the authority of Article 11—E of
the Constitution of Maryland and Section 13 of Article 23—A
of the Annotated Code of Maryland, title
"Corporations-Municipal", to amend Section 359 of the Town
Charter (being also Section 359 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Kent County, 1959 Edition, said Code being Article
15 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Kent
County", and said Section being under the subtitle "Rock
Hall"), so as to provide that ordinances excluded from
referendum by Section 360 of the Charter shall become
effective on the dates specified therein and that all
ordinances shall be published by title only, and so as to
eliminate from said Section the inconsistent reference
therein to approval or veto of ordinances by the Mayor.

[Section 523 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Kent
County, repealed and reenacted, with amendments.
Effective Date July 7, 1961]

Hall"), so as to make clear that the right to a referendum
shall not apply to any ordinance adopting the annual budget
and tax levy or imposing special assessment charges to pay
indebtedness incurred or to be incurred by the town with
respect to public improvements for which such special
assessment charges are imposed.

[Section 524 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Kent
County, repealed and reenacted, with amendments.
