MUNICIPAL CHARTERS

respectively, to $2400 end $1500, respectively.

WHEREAS the Mayor and City Council of the City of

College Park wish to increase the annual compensation for

the Mayor and individual council members to a more
reasonable figure, and

WHEREAS Article 23A, Section 2(26) of the     Annotated

Code of Maryland requires salary changes of the   Mayor and

City Council be approved by the majority of the     qualified
voters of the City voting thereon, and

WHEREAS on this same date the Mayor and Council adopted
Resolution 77-CR-1 whose effect is to change what previously
had been considered a semi-annual reimbursement for expenses
to "salary payable on a monthly basis", and

WHEREAS it is the intent of the Council that in the
event the herein Resolution, 77-CR-2, is approved by the
electorate at the referendum election that the increase in
amounts of compensation to $2400 and $1500, respectively,
shall also, in accordance with Resolution 77—CR—1, be
considered as salary payable on a monthly basis.

[Section 15-8 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Prince George's County, as found in the 1963 Edition and
1967 Supplement, repealed and reenacted, with amendments.

Effective Date December 8, 1977]

77-CR-3

A Resolution to amend Article XV of the Charter of the
City of College Park, Maryland, so as to add a new section
6 2A, giving the City the express power of owning property
outside the corporate limits of the City.

WHEREAS it may become necessary, from time to time, for
the City to acquire property outside the corporate limits of
the City in order to carry out some City program or
function, as for example, the Lakeland Urban Renewal project
or a landfill project.

[Section 15-62A of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Prince George's County, as found in the 1963 Edition and
1967 Supplement, added.

Effective Date November 16, 1977]
