WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bowie, a municipal
corporation of the State of Maryland, has determined to
enlarge and extend the limits of the City of Bowie by
including therein a part of Prince George's County
contiguous and adjoining thereto in accordance with the
procedure set forth in Section 19 of Article 23A of the
Annotated Code of Maryland {1957 Edition and Amendments),
said Article being Titled, "Corporations - Municipal",
Section 19 being a sub-heading, titled "Annexations"; and
WHEREAS, the proposal for change was consented to by
the owner of not less than 25% of the assessed valuation of
the real property located in the area to be annexed, there
being no persons residing in the area to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bowie has
determined to initiate a resolution, based on the
aforementioned consent to enlarge and extend the limits of
the City of Bowie to include the hereinafter described area
and to make applicable to that area all laws of the State of
Maryland applicable to the City of Bowie and all existing
charter provisions and ordinances of the City of Bowie which
are now in force or may be hereafter enacted;

Supplement, repealed and reenacted, with amendments.

NEW CHARTER ADOPTION
RESOLUTION DATED OCTOBER 3, 1977
WHEREAS the Mayer and Town Council of the Town of
Brentwood, Maryland desired to revise and improve the TOWN
CHARIER of the Town of Brentwood; and
WHEREAS the Mayer and Town Council approved the
formation of a Charter Committee comprised of citizens of
the Town of Brentwood; and
WHEREAS the Charter Committee worked diligently with
the Maryland Technical Advisory Service from the University
of Maryland, The Town Attorney Charles S. Spencer,
Councilor George Denny, and other members of the Town
Council; for over a period of a year; and
WHEREAS all requirements have been complied with in the
adoption of a new Municipal Charter in lieu of the one
presently existing, as per the Constitution of Maryland,
Article XI-E ss 3; The Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 as
