RESOLUTION
OF THE
MAYOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE
CITY OF ANNAPOLIS
TO REPEAL AND RE-ENACT
SECTION 18 - OF THE CITY CHARTER
Resolution of the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of
Annapolis, adopted pursuant to the authority of Article 11—E
of the Constitution of the State of Maryland and Article
23-A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1973 Replacement
Volume), titled "Corporations—Municipal", to repeal and
re-enact Section 18 of tie Charter of the City of Annapolis
for the purpose of revising the oath of office or
affirmation required to be taken by the Mayor; Aldermen,
City Attorneys, and Judges and Clerks of Elections and all
other officers of the City; re-enacting all other provisions
of Section 18 of the City Charter not inconsistent with this
amendment and all matters relating generally thereto.
WHEREAS, Article 1, Section 6 of the Constitution of
Maryland prescribes the oath of office for persons elected
or appointed to public office; and
WHEREAS, the Charter of the City provides that the oath
is prescribed by the Constitution; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Aldermen wish to conform the
oath of office to the language in the Maryland Constitution.

County, repealed and reenacted, with amendments.

SECTION 44 - OF THE CITY CHARTER
Resolution of the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of
Annapolis, adopted pursuant to the authority of Article 11—E
of the Constitution of the State of Maryland and Article
23-A of the Annotated Code of Maryland {1973 Replacement
Volume), titled "Corporations—Municipal", to repeal and
re-enact Section 44 of the Charter of the City of Annapolis
to provide that the annual tax levy shall be made on or
