(D)   CURRICULA AND OTHER POWERS.
THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES SHALL:

(1)   AUTHORIZE THE CURRICULA TO BE OFFERED AT
EACH INSTITUTION UNDER ITS JURISDICTION;

(2)    DETERMINE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR EACH
DEPARTMENT AND COURSE OF STUDY AT EACH INSTITUTION;

(3)   SET TUITION AND FEES;

(4)   REGULATE THE LENGTH OF THE REGULAR SESSIONS;

(5)   PROVIDE AND ARRANGE FOR SUMMER SESSIONS;

(6)   ADOPT RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE CONDUCT
AND MANAGEMENT OF EACH INSTITUTION; AND

(7) CONFER THE DEGREES IT DETERMINES ARE
APPROPRIATE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection presently appears as
the third and fourth sentences of Art. 77A,
§12(d).

The present reference to the limitation on
granting a degree imposed by Art. 77, §11 is
deleted as obsolete. Art. 77, §11 no longer
applies to collegiate institutions.

In item (3) of this subsection, the phrase
"tuition and fees" is substituted for the phrase
"fees and admission charges".

The only other changes are in style.

The last sentence of present Art. 77A, §12(g) on
setting fees at the University of Baltimore is
deleted as unnecessary in light of this
subsection.

this article.

(E)       SELECTION OF INSTITUTION PRESIDENTS.

IN CONSULTATION WITH THE APPROPRIATE BOARD OF VISITORS,
THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES SHALL APPOINT A PRESIDENT FOR EACH
INSTITUTION.         HOWEVER, THE QUALIFICATIONS AND TENURE OF A

PRESIDENT SHALL BE DETERMINED SOLELY BY THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language that
combines the first sentence and the first clause
of the second sentence of Art. 77A, §12(e) and
Art. 77A, §12-1(h).
