LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch. 22

(H) GIFTS AND GRANTS.

(1)   THE BOARD OF REGENTS MAY APPLY FOR AND, WITH
THE APPROVAL OF THE GOVERNOR, ACCEPT ANY GIFT OR GRANT FROM
THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OR ANY OTHER PERSON.

(2)   ANY GIFT OR GRANT THE BOARD ACCEPTS SHALL BE
DEPOSITED WITH THE STATE TREASURER IN A NONBUDGETED ACCOUNT
AND MAY BE INVESTED AS THE BOARD DIRECTS IN ACCORDANCE WITH
LAW.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language derived
without substantive change from Art. 77A, §74 (d).

In paragraph (1) of this subsection, the present
reference to "individual ... or department" is
deleted as unnecessary in light of the definition
of "person" in §1—101 of this article and the
present reference to "donation ... or devise" is
deleted as unnecessary in light of Art. 1, §22 of
the Code.

As to funds received by the University under this

subsection, see also Art. 15A, §§ 5 and 5 of the
Code.

(I) OTHER DUTIES.

THE BOARD OF REGENTS MAY PERFORM ANY OTHER DUTY
NECESSARY TO CARRY OUT ITS POWERS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection presently appears as
Art. 77A, §74(c)(14).

The only changes are in style.

Article 77A, §74(c)(2), which gives the Board
"all the powers enjoyed ..." by the Board of
Trustees formerly controlling the University is
deleted as obsolete.

13-205. MORGAN STATE UNIVERSITY POLICE FORCE.

(A) FORCE ESTABLISHED.

THERE IS A MORGAN STATE UNIVERSITY POLICE FORCE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added
to clarify the existence of the Police Force.

Throughout this section, the term "Morgan State
University Police Officer" is substituted for
"member of the ... police "; this is done for
greater simplicity, and conforms to the similar
references in NR §§ 1-201 et seq. to a "natural
resources police officer".
