House Bill No. 1157 — Real Property — Tax Credits

AN ACT concerning

Real Property - Tax Credits

FOR the purpose of providing uniformity in the law with
regard to the calculation of discounts for early
payment and interest or penalties for failure to pay
taxes by a certain date in certain sections of the
Annotated Code relating to tax credits.

Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 1157.

This till provides uniformity in certain provisions
that relate to calculation of discounts for payment and
interest and penalties for failure to pay certain property
taxes.

House Bill 1168, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 2, 1978, creates a new
property tax credit program and, in doing so, accomplishes
the purpose of this bill.

Since the purpose of House Bill 1157 is accomplished by
the enactment and signing of House Bill 1168, it is
unnecessary for me to sign House Bill 1157.
