AN ACT concerning

State Employees — Accumulated Leave

FOR the purpose of increasing the maximum accumulation of
unused annual leave permitted for purposes of
compensation on termination of State employment.

Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 585.

This bill increases the maximum accumulation of unused
annual leave permitted for compensation on termination of
State employment.

Senate Bill 229, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 16, 1978, accomplishes the
same purpose.

Therefore it is unnecessary for me to sign House Bill
585.
