Senate Bill No. 466 - Probation - Revocation

AN ACT concerning

Probation — Revocation

FOR the purpose of prescribing the period to which a judge
may sentence a person who is placed on probation and
who subsequently is brought before the court for
sentencing or for a violation of the terms and
conditions of proration.

Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 466.

This bill prescribes the period to which a judge     may

sentence a person who is placed on probation     and

subsequently is brought before the court for sentencing     or
for violation of probation.

House Bill 796, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 16, 1978, accomplishes the
same purpose.

Therefore it is unnecessary for me to sign Senate Bill
466.
