SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section(s) 8-708(d), of Article - Natural
Resources, of the Annotated Code of Maryland be renumbered
to be Section(s) 8-708(f).

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That section(s)
of the Annotated Code of Maryland be repealed, amended, or
enacted to read as follows:

Article - Natural Resources

8-706.

The department shall carry out the administrative
duties concerning the waterways improvement district- In
addition it shall:

(4)        Provide liaison with the United States Army
Corps of Engineers on projects under §107 of the Rivers and
Harbors Act; [and]

(5)        Prepare requests for appropriation of funds
necessary to pay the [state's] STATE'S share of the cost of
projects; AND

(6)         ADMINISTER THE WATERWAY IMPROVEMENT FUND TO
PROVIDE INTEREST-FREE LOANS TO ANY GOVERNING BODY FOR A
WATERWAY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AS PROVIDED IN §8-708(D) OF
THIS SUBTITLE.
