AN ACT concerning

Law Enforcement Officers - Administrative Leave

FOR the purpose of permitting law enforcement officers to go
on leave if injured during the performance of certain
duties; repealing certain provisions dealing with leave
time and certain "on the job" injuries.

Article 88B - State Police

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 88B - State Police

23A.

The Superintendent of State Police may grant
administrative leave to law-enforcement officers in his
department injured or wounded in the [line of duty while in
the active prevention of crime] PERFORMANCE OF LAW
ENFORCEMENT DUTIES. The administrative leave remains in
effect until the State Police officer is returned to duty or
is retired by reason of those injuries.

Article 64A - Merit System

[(h) Leave used by a State policeman as a result of an
"on the job" injury sustained while on hazardous duty shall
