(IV) (III) ORDERED TO DO SO BY THE
GOVERNOR.

(C)    (1) IN CONSULTATION WITH THE SUPERINTENDENT OF
THE MARYLAND STATE POLICE AND THE MARYLAND POLICE TRAINING
COMMISSION, THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES SHALL ADOPT STANDARDS,
QUALIFICATIONS, AND PREREQUISITES OF CHARACTER, TRAINING,
EDUCATION, HUMAN AND PUBLIC RELATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE FOR
BOWIE STATE COLLEGE POLICE OFFICERS, INCLUDING STANDARDS FOR
THE PERFORMANCE OF THEIR DUTIES.

(2)    TO THE EXTENT PRACTICABLE, THE BOARD SHALL
ADOPT STANDARDS THAT ARE SIMILAR TO THE STANDARDS ADOPTED
FOR THE MARYLAND STATE POLICE.

(3)    STANDARDS ADOPTED ON OR AFTER JULY 1, 1978,
ON MINIMUM HIRING QUALIFICATIONS OF BOWIE STATE COLLEGE
POLICE OFFICERS MAY NOT AFFECT THE STATUS OF ANY INDIVIDUAL
WHO WAS A QUALIFIED BOWIE STATE COLLEGE POLICE OFFICER ON
THAT DATE.

(D)    THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES SHALL ADOPT RULES AND
REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE OPERATION AND CONDUCT OF THE BOWIE
STATE COLLEGE POLICE FORCE AND OF BOWIE STATE COLLEGE POLICE
OFFICERS.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.

(House Bill 2002)

AN ACT concerning

Vehicle Laws - Wreckers and Scrap Processors

FOR the purpose of requiring a certain procedure to be
followed by a wrecker after purchasing a salvage

vehicle; prohibiting the performance of certain

business activities involving certain vehicles by any
person, except a wrecker or scrap processor; permitting
certain actions involving vehicles by a wrecker at a
certain time; altering the requirements concerning the

storage of certain vehicles by a wrecker; and

clarifying language and requiring certain notice by a
wrecker.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 13-506(a), 15-502, 15-508, and 15-513
