(House Bill 1583)

AN ACT concerning

Howard County - Masters in Chancery

FOR the purpose of altering the title of Masters in Chancery
of the Circuit Court for Howard County by removing the
reference to juvenile and domestic relations causes;
removing the specific reference to juvenile causes from
the description of cases which may be assigned to a
Master; curtailing the authority of the Circuit Court
to appoint persons for certain services in connection
with domestic relations actions; altering the provision
for disposition of costs; generally relating to the
authority of the County Executive in connection with
certain salaries; and generally relating to the
responsibilities of the Masters in Chancery.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

The Public Local Laws of Howard County
Section 7.307

Article 14 - Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1977 Edition, as amended)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as

follows:

Article 14 — Howard County

7.307.

(a) The Circuit Court for Howard County may appoint
no more than two members of the Bar of the State of Maryland
as Masters in Chancery [for Juvenile and Domestic Relations
causes] of the Circuit Court for Howard County. Each Master
shall hear any [Juvenile and Domestic Relations] case that
the Circuit Court may assign to him including but not
limited to [juvenile causes and to] cases involving
