(House Bill 1389)

AN ACT concerning

Hospitals - Credit Cards

FOR the purpose of authorizing requiring authorizing
hospitals operated by the municipal political
subdivisions of Maryland to accept credit card payment
of bills under certain conditions; and generally
relating to credit card payment of bills.

BY adding to

Article 43 - Health

Section 556G

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1971 Replacement Volume and 1977 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 43 - Health

556G.

ANY HOSPITAL OPERATED BY A MUNICIPAL POLITICAL

SUBDIVISION OF THE STATE MAY ACCEPT A CREDIT CARD PAYMENT

SHALL MAY ACCEPT A VALID CREDIT CARD AS PAYMENT FOR BILLS.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act

shall take effect July 1, 1978.
