within the scope of such person's craft or profession. No
salesman's license shall be required of the salesman in
regard to such a transaction.

(3) [Any home improvement, where the aggregate
contract price for all labor, materials and other items is
less than $200.00. This exemption does not apply where the
work is only part of a larger or major operation, whether
undertaken by the same or a different contractor, or in
which a division of the operation is made in contracts of
amounts less than $200.00 for the purpose of evasion of this
provisicn or otherwise.

(4)]        Any retail clerk, clerical or other

employee of a licensed contractor, as to a transaction on
the premises of the contractor; and any solicitor for a
contractor who makes contact with an owner by telephone

only.

257.

(A)          AN APPLICATION FOR AN ORIGINAL LICENSE REQUIRED
BY THIS SUBTITLE SHALL BE IN WRITING UPON A FORM PRESCRIBED
BY THE COMMISSION.        THE COMMISSION MAY SEEK FROM AN
APPLICANT INFORMATION PERTINENT TO THE APPLICANT'S
CHARACTER, EXPERIENCE, FINANCIAL STABILITY, PAST OR PROPOSED
METHODS OF DOING BUSINESS, AND ANY OTHER INFORMATION DEEMED
NECESSARY IN ORDER TO EVALUATE THE APPLICANT'S
QUALIFICATIONS TO BE LICENSED UNDER THIS SUBTITLE.

(B)          THE APPLICANT SHALL FILE WITH THE COMMISSION
INFORMATION THAT INCLUDES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO:

(1)          A COMPLETE STATEMENT OF THE GENERAL NATURE
OF THE APPLICANT'S CONTRACTING BUSINESS OR HIS DUTIES, IF
THE APPLICANT IS A SALESPERSON.

(2)          IF THE APPLICANT IS AN INDIVIDUAL, HIS NAME
ANE ADDRESS; IF A COPARTNERSHIP PARTNERSHIP, THE NAMES AND
ADDRESSES OF ALL OFFICERS PARTNERS; IF A JOINT VENTURE, THE

NAMES AND ADDRESSES OF THE PARTIES TO IT AND THEIR OFFICERS

AND RESPONSIBLE MANAGING EMPLOYEES; AND , IF A CORPORATION,

THE NAMES AND ADDRESSES OF ALL OFFICERS, IF INCORPORATED.

(3)          A RECORD OF THE PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE OF THE
APPLICANT IN THE FIELD OF HOME IMPROVEMENTS OR OTHER
CONSTRUCTION WORK, INCLUDING DATES AND ADDRESSES OF WHERE
THE APPLICANT HAS RESIDED AND DONE BUSINESS.

(4)          WHETHER THE APPLICANT HAS EVER BEEN
LICENSED IN MARYLAND OR ANY OTHER STATE OR HAS HAD A
PROFESSIONAL OR A VOCATIONAL LICENSE REFUSED, SUSPENDED, OR
REVOKED.

(5)          WHETHER THE APPLICANT IS SELF-INSURED OR
CARRIES POLICIES OF WORKMEN'S COMPENSATION ,OR, PERSONAL
LIABILITY AND PROPERTY DAMAGE INSURANCE IN THE AMOUNT DEEMED
NECESSARY BY THE COMMISSION.
