BLAIR LEE III, Acting Governor

1909

(B) Any such member who received membership
service credit for service rendered to the State or to the
Maryland Tuberculosis Association under the provisions of
this subsection shall pay to the retirement system by a
single payment, within whatever period of time as may be
determined by the board of trustees, the contributions with
interest which the board of trustees determines is due.

[(13)] (12) An employee of the State, who is or
becomes a member of the Employees' Retirement System and who
at any previous time served as a full—time paid employee of
a municipal corporation of this State and who is not
entitled to receive service credit for the same period under
any other provision of this article, or who is not receiving
retirement benefits from any political subdivision or
municipal corporation of this State, shall be entitled in
the year in which he retires to credit for previous service
rendered by him to the municipal corporation upon the
payment by him or the municipal corporation or a combination

the previous service.

[(14)] (13) A member may receive in the year in
which he retires service credit in the retirement system for
out-of-state public school teaching service, or nonpublic

trustees and shall pay into the retirement system an amount
equal to the reserves required to fund the additional
allowance for such years of out—of—state or nonpublic school
teaching service as he may claim.

[(15)] (14) Any member who was formerly employed
on a temporary or emergency basis with the State or a
participating municipality, may purchase credit for such
service upon payment to the retirement system, in a single

[(16)] (15) Notwithstanding any other provision
of this article to the contrary, any member of the State
Employees' Retirement System, who has previously been a
member of the State Police Retirement System and who has not
served the number of years of creditable service required to
receive a vested retirement allowance from the State Police

from the Maryland State Police and shall deposit with the
Employees' System the amount of contributions required for
this credit, with interest to the date of deposit. The rate
of the contributions is that rate which would have been
