AN ACT concerning

Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute — Disaster
Training Duties

FOR the purpose of adding disaster training to the duties of
the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute and making
technical adjustments to the laws pertaining to the
duties of the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland

(as enacted by Chapter ____ of the Acts of the General

Assembly of 1978) be repealed, amended, or enacted to read
as follows:

Article 38A - Fires and Investigations

63.

services formerly provided by the extension, the institute

shall:

1. Provide classroom education and training
for fire and rescue personnel, both at the Institute and

throughout the State by means of mobile laboratory

demonstrations and classes;

2. Cooperate in existing activities in

jurisdictions throughout the State which provide training
for fire and rescue personnel;

         3. Develop and conduct instructor training

courses;

4. Prepare or adopt fire and rescue training

manuals and instructional materials;

5. Research and develop new fire and rescue

training techniques;

6. Develop and implement industrial fire

training courses and other specialized courses in fire

fighting;
