(VII)   40 TO 49 ASSISTANTS....... 2,800; AND

(VIII)  50 OR MORE ASSISTANTS..... 3,100.

(2) FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS SUBSECTION, A
PRINCIPAL OF A SCHOOL WITH 30 OR MORE ASSISTANTS SHALL BE
EMPLOYED ON A 12-MONTH BASIS. A PRINCIPAL OF A SCHOOL WITH
20 TO 29 ASSISTANTS MAY BE EMPLOYED ON A 12-MONTH BASIS AND
SHALL BE PAID $70 0 FOR EACH YEAR IN ADDITION TO THE INCREASE
REQUIRED BY THIS SUBSECTION.

(E)   SALARY OF AIDES I AND II.

(1)    THE SALARY OF THE POSITION OF AIDE I SHALL
BE $2,700.

(2)   THE SALARY OF THE POSITION OF AIDE II SHALL
BE $2,500.

(F)   MINIMUM SALARY ON ENTERING COUNTY SCHOOL SYSTEM.

A TEACHER OR PRINCIPAL MHO ENTERS ANY COUNTY PUBLIC
SCHOOL SYSTEM SHALL RECEIVE A MINIMUM SALARY EQUAL TO THAT
REQUIRED UNDER THIS SECTION FOR A TEACHER OR PRINCIPAL WHO:

(1)    HAS EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE AND GRADE OF
CERTIFICATE; AND

(2)    IS ALREADY IN THE PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM OF
THAT COUNTY.

(G)   PAYMENTS IN EXCESS OF REQUIRED SALARIES.

A COUNTY BOARD MAY PAY TEACHERS AND PRINCIPALS ANNUAL
SALARIES THAT ARE MORE THAN THE SALARIES PROVIDED FOR IN
THIS SECTION.

(H) NO INCREMENTAL SALARY INCREASE FOR HOLDERS OF
SECOND CLASS CERTIFICATE.

A TEACHER OR PRINCIPAL WHOSE CERTIFICATE IS RATED BY A
COUNTY SUPERINTENDENT AS SECOND CLASS UNDER §6-103 OF THIS
TITLE MAY NOT RECEIVE A SALARY INCREMENT BASED ON
EXPERIENCE.

(I) LEVY TO MEET SALARIES.

THE COUNTY GOVERNING BODY COMMISSIONERS, COUNTY

COUNCIL, AND MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF BALTIMORE CITY SHALL
LEVY SUFFICIENT FUNDS TO MEET THE SCHEDULE OF SALARIES
ESTABLISHED UNDER THIS SECTION.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as Art.
77, §112(a) through (i).

The first clause of present Art. 77, §112(a) is
deleted as unnecessary.
