(B)          SERVICE RENDERED FOR THE FULL NORMAL
WORKING TIME IN ANY YEAR SHALL BE EQUIVALENT TO ONE YEAR'S
SERVICE.

(C)          A MEMBER SHALL BE ALLOWED A FULL YEAR OF
SERVICE CREDIT FOR EACH CALENDAR YEAR OF REGULAR PART-TIME
EMPLOYMENT TO ESTABLISH ELIGIBILITY FOR ANY TYPE OF
RETIREMENT OR BENEFIT.         HOWEVER, THE ACTUAL TIME SERVED
SHALL BE USED IN THE COMPUTATION OF THE RETIREMENT ALLOWANCE
OR BENEFIT.

(D)          A MEMBER HOLDING AN ELECTIVE OR APPOINTIVE
POSITION SHALL RECEIVE A FULL YEAR'S CREDIT FOR EACH FULL
YEAR DURING WHICH THE MEMBER HOLDS THE POSITION.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That section(s)
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (as enacted by Chapter

_____of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1978) be

repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 73B — Pensions

85.

(2) The board of trustees shall fix and determine by
appropriate rules and regulations how much service in any
year is equivalent to one year of service, but except as
otherwise provided, in no case shall more than one year of
service be creditable for all service in one calendar year.
[The board of trustees, under such rules and regulations as
it shall adopt, shall allow credit, however, to members
absent in the military service during World War I or within
the periods and under the provisions specified in § 88 of
Article 65 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition
as amended), for the period of their absence, provided that
such members were teachers when they entered such military
service and who again became teachers. However, any
teacher whose board of education had granted him a leave of
absence immediately before he left for military service
shall be considered to have left the teaching profession for
military service. Service rendered for the regular school
year in any district shall be equivalent to one year's
service.]

(A)    A MONTH OF SERVICE MEANS A MONTH OR ANY
PORTION OF A MONTH, PROVIDED A CONTRIBUTION FROM
COMPENSATION IS MADE IN THAT MONTH.

(B)    SERVICE RENDERED FOR THE FULL NORMAL
WORKING TIME IN ANY YEAR SHALL BE EQUIVALENT TO ONE YEAR'S
SERVICE.

(C)    A MEMBER SHALL BE ALLOWED A FULL YEAR OF
