any authorization previously granted to any county by public
general or public local law, and any such authorization in
effect on July 1, 1978, shall not be affected in any manner
by the enactment of this subtitle.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.

AN ACT concerning
Mortmain Act
FOR the purpose of declaring the sanction and consent of the
General Assembly of Maryland to sundry gifts, bequests,
and devises contained in the Last Wills and Testaments
of certain persons, deceased, and also to certain
gifts, grants, sales, leases and deeds made by various
persons to and for the use and benefit of sundry
ministerial persons, religious corporations, vestries,
educational and charitable institutions, churches,
denominations or sects hereinafter named.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the sanction and consent of the said General
Assembly of Maryland be and the same is hereby declared,
given and granted to the following gifts, bequests, devises,
grants, sales, leases, conveyances and deeds, to and from
certain persons and bodies corporate to and for the use of
certain ministerial persons, religious and education
corporations, orders denominations and sects, and to certain
charitable institutions hereinafter named and hereinafter
set forth.
1. To a deed from Andrew H. Baker and Anne Baker, his
wife, to the Most Reverend Francis Patrick Kenrich,
Archbishop of Baltimore, and his successors in the
Arch—Episcopal See of Baltimore dated June 12, 1861, and
recorded among the Land Records of Carroll County, Maryland
in liber G.E.W. No. 28, Folio 173.
2. To a deed from James Fraser and Ella McF. Fraser, his
wife, to The Blue Ridge College, dated May 19, 1913, and
recorded among the Land Records of Carroll County, Maryland
in liter C.D.G. No. 122, Folio 252.
3. To a deed from Annie R. Stoner, widow, to The blue
Ridge College, a body corporate of the State of Maryland,
