independent office facilities, office equipment, supplies
and books, and any other items necessary for the operation
of the State's Attorney's office.

(3) The State's Attorney may appoint A___DEPUTY

STATE'S ATTORNEY, two or more assistant State's attorneys
and one or more investigators. The DEPUTY STATE'S ATTORNEY,
THE assistant State's attorneys and the investigators may be
part-time or full-time employees. The County Commissioners
shall make available to the State's Attorney [ a sum of not
less than $30,000 per year ] AN ANNUAL SUM from which he
shall appropriate salaries for the DEPUTY STATE'S ATTORNEY,
THE assistant State's attorneys and the investigators.

(4)         PAYMENTS FOR SALARIES SHALL BE MADE

BIWEEKLY AND PAYMENTS FOR EXPENSES SHALL BE MADE UPON THE

PRESENTATION OF VOUCHERS.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
nay not be construed to extend or apply to the salary of the
State's Attorney of St. Mary's County in office on the
effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act
concerning the salary of the State's Attorney of St. Mary's
County shall take effect at the beginning of the next
following term of office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.

AN ACT concerning

Harford County - Sunday Activities

FOR the purpose of specifying that the number of persons
that may be employed by certain retail establishments
on Sunday in Harford County does not include up to a
certain number of security guards; including a certain
proviso; and clarifying language.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
