AS ACT concerning

Prince George's County - School Board Members' Terms
Option 1 — Clarification
(PG 245-78)

FOR the purpose of clarifying an inconsistency in the terms
of office of certain members of the Board of Education
of Prince George's County.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 3-802(f)(1)
Annotated Code of Maryland

(As enacted by Chapter ---- of the Acts

of the General Assembly of 1978)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland

(as enacted by Chapter ____ of the Acts of the General

Assembly of 1978) be repealed, amended, or enacted to read
as follows:

Article — Education

3-802.

(f) (1) Each elected member serves for a term of 4
years beginning on the first Monday in December after his
election and until his successor is elected and qualifies.
The terms of members are staggered as required by the terms
of the members serving on the county Board as of July 1,

1978. Elections shall be held for [one-third of] the county

Board members every 2 years beginning in 1978.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect June 1, 1978.
