(A)         In Montgomery and Prince George's counties, the
Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission shall have the sole
power to grant certificates to persons desiring to work at
the plumbing business in said counties, provided that the
fees to be charged for said certificates shall not exceed
the fees as fixed in this subtitle. The said Commission
shall have the power to make such rules and regulations as
to the installation of plumbing in said counties as it may
deem necessary for the public health, and shall have and
exercise within the said Montgomery and Prince George's
counties all the authority and power conferred upon the
State Board of Commissioners of Practical Plumbing by this
subtitle. Provided, however, that nothing in this section
shall affect the certificates heretofore issued by the
Commissioners of Practical Plumbing, but all persons who
have such certificates shall have and exercise all the
rights and privileges which a holder of such certificate has
under the provisions of this subtitle, but the renewal of
such certificate shall be under the jurisdiction and control
of the said Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission.

(B)          ANY PERSON HOLDING A VALID MASTER PLUMBER'S
LICENSE OR A JOURNEYMAN PLUMBER'S LICENSE ISSUED BY THE
WASHINGTON SUBURBAN SANITARY COMMISSION IS ENTITLED TO BE
ISSUED A MASTER PLUMBER'S CERTIFICATE OR A JOURNEYMAN
PLUMBER'S CERTIFICATE, AS APPLICABLE, BY THE STATE BOARD OF
COMMISSIONERS OF PRACTICAL PLUMBING OF THE STATE OF MARYLAND
WITHOUT EXAMINATION, UPON THE PRESENTATION OF A VALID MASTER
PLUMBER'S LICENSE OR A JOURNEYMAN PLUMBER'S LICENSE, AS
APPLICABLE, ISSUED BY THE WASHINGTON SUBURBAN SANITARY
COMMISSION AND A NOTARIZED STATEMENT OF GOOD STANDING ISSUED
BY THE COMMISSION. FURTHER, ANY PLUMBER RESIDING IN PRINCE

GEORGE'S OR___ MONTGOMERY COUNTIES HOLDING A VALID MASTER

PLUMBER'S CERTIFICATE OR A JOURNEYMAN PLUMBER'S CERTIFICATE
ISSUED BY THE STATE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF PRACTICAL
PLUMBING IS ENTITLED TO BE ISSUED A MASTER PLUMBER'S LICENSE
OR A JOURNEYMAN PLUMBER'S LICENSE, AS APPLICABLE, BY THE
WASHINGTON          SUBURBAN           SANITARY          COMMISSION,           WITHOUT

EXAMINATION, UPON PRESENTATION OF A VALID MASTER PLUMBER'S
CERTIFICATE OR A JOURNEYMAN PLUMBER'S CERTIFICATE, AS
APPLICABLE, ISSUED BY THE STATE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
PRACTICAL PLUMBING.

(C)          ANY LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE ISSUED TO A MASTER
PLUMBER OR A JOURNEYMAN PLUMBER IN GOOD STANDING PURSUANT TO
A RECIPROCITY        ARRANGEMENT        BY        THE        STATE        BOARD OF
COMMISSIONERS OF PRACTICAL PLUMBING AND THE WASHINGTON
SUBURBAN SANITARY COMMISSION PRIOR TO JULY 1, 1978 SHALL
REMAIN IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.
