AN ACT concerning

Howard County — State's Attorney

FOR the purpose of altering the salary of the Howard County
State's Attorney; and specifying that the salary
increase does not affect the incumbent.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 10 — Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact

Section 40(n)(1)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1976 Replacement Volume and 1977 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 10 — Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact

40.

(n) (1) The State's Attorney's salary is [$20,000]
$25,000.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
may not be construed to extend or apply to the salary of the
Howard County State's Attorney in office on the effective
date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning
the salary of the Howard County State's Attorney shall take
effect at the beginning of the next following term of
office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.
