Article 33 — Election Code

Section 1-1 (c)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1976 Replacement Volume and 1977 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 33 — Election Code

1-1.

(c) In computing the times for notice to be given, or
for the performing of any other act, under this article,
SATURDAY, Sunday, OR A LEGAL HOLIDAY shall be included,
except when the day on which notice should be given or an
act should be performed occurs on a SATURDAY, Sunday, or [on
a] legal holiday, in which case the notice shall be given or
the act performed on the next regular business day following
such SATURDAY, Sunday, or legal holiday. In such
computation the day of giving notice or performing any act
and the day of registration or election shall be excluded.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.
