SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act is
applicable to all calendar years beginning after December
31, 1976.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.

AN ACT concerning

Vehicle Laws — Driver Licenses

FOR the purpose of increasing the fee a licensee must pay to
the Motor Vehicle Administration for a duplicate of
certain types of driver's licenses; providing that the
Motor Vehicle Administration may issue a regular
duplicate license when the license is of a certain type
and the licensee is temporarily absent from this State
and providing the validation period for such a regular
duplicate license; providing the procedures for a
licensee temporarily absent from this State to renew
his license by mail; and providing the validation
period for a license requiring a photo.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article - Transportation

16-111.1.

(c) For issuance of a duplicate driver's license, a
licensee shall pay the Administration a duplicate driver's
license fee of [$1.] $2 FOR A TYPE NOT REQUIRING A PHOTO AND
$6 FOR A TYPE THAT REQUIRES A PHOTO.
