Every vendor engaged in business in this State except
those registered under § 360 of this article, who shall sell
or deliver tangible personal property for use, storage or
consumption in this State shall obtain a license for the
privilege of engaging in said business. [Such person shall
apply for the license required by this section within sixty
(60) days from and after July 1, 1947.]

396.

Each applicant for a license required by § 395 of this
subtitle shall [on or before the first day of August, 1947,]
make out and deliver to the Comptroller, upon a [blank] FORM
to be furnished by him for that purpose, a statement shoving
the name of the applicant, the [name] NAMES and addresses of
all agents of the applicant operating within this State, the
location of any and all distribution houses or other places
of business of the applicant in this State, and such other
information as the Comptroller may prescribe.

397.

At the time of making [his] application as required by
§ 396 of this subtitle, the applicant shall pay to the
Comptroller a license fee in the sum of [one dollar ($1).]
$5. Upon receipt of such application and the fee [as
herein prescribed], the Comptroller shall issue to the
applicant a license authorizing the applicant to sell or
deliver tangible personal property for use, storage or
consumption in this State. The license shall be
nontransferable except as otherwise provided in this
subtitle and shall be displayed in the applicant's place of
business. Except as otherwise provided in this subtitle,
the license issued [as herein provided] shall continue TO BE
valid until surrendered by the vendor or cancelled for cause
by the Comptroller. The form of [such] THE license shall
be as prescribed by the Comptroller.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.
