CHAPTER 89

(House Bill 137)

AN ACT concerning

Revenue and Tax Laws — Oaths

FOR the purpose of   specifying that certain applications and

responses made   under the revenue and tax laws and

containing a     certain declaration shall be deemed to

have been made   under oath.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 81 — Revenue and Taxes

Section 5

Annotated Code of Maryland

{1975 Replacement Volume and 1977 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 81 - Revenue and Taxes

5.

Every report, APPLICATION, AND RESPONSE required by
this article shall be deemed to have been made under oath if
it contains a declaration, preceding the signature, of the
maker, to the effect that it is made under the penalties of
perjury.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.
